Post subject: 0.18 debs from r5a15.1
PostPosted: Mon May 02, 2005 9:38 am
i have tried r5a15.1 with no luck due to my twinhan dvb-t cards. so i was wondering if it is possible to use the debs from the r5a15.1 install on the r5a10 or 12 install to update the mythtv to 0.18?

if not i might go the source install and see how i go with that.

well the debs "should" work on R5A? they will not work on R4? The one thing to remember would be to remove all mythtv debs from R5A10/12 before installing the new ones, because of the change in 0.18 to only have two packages instead of several means that there are now only two debs, and they won't map over properly to just do an upgrade.

arrrggghhh, downloaded ISO, no debs, everything is in a cloop thing. Can't get new mplayer without upgrading the whole thing. Just finished a 3-day process to get R5A15 working. I ain't doing that again

Cecil, if it's not too much trouble, could you please post the changes to mplayer and how to upgrade just that?

the question was about mythtv whats wrong with mplayer?

there are other ways to get a new mplayer if that's what you want.

I can't play divx in my PVR-350 Tv-out with the one in R5A15, I can't find the ivtvosd patch anywhere. I am hoping this recompiled one in R5A15.1 has it.

Well good luck with that. I've only every heard one person claim to have good fluid divx playback with pvr350 output, and since I've heard hundreds of complaints and failures I am suspect of the one success story.

The debs are compiled against the DVB headers in the new kernel. This may not play well with a release with a different kernel. MPlayer was recompiled to include xxmc (Unichrome support).
