So I got stuff to install I think, I am able to configure the frontend and if I sorta skip the datadirect stuff I can start using MythTV to view my snow channels (not sure if the cable still works from this room, will have to check it later), but everytime I try to setup the datadirect service it just gets stuck at 50% on retrieving listings.

Made my labs.zap2it.com account, logs in fine on a different machine and has cable lineup in the account.

Try setting up MythTV to use it, and it doesn't work.

I have internet connectivity (am able to download and install packages using apt-get) and I can ping www.google.com and do a traceroute to labs.zap2it.com.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there another way to get the tv program data? Or is it just slow?

well it is a bit slow, but generally shouldn't be over 30sec to a minute. One other thing is I seem to remember that the username is case sensitive as well as the password.

I found out the problem: it was a double routing problem through a windows machine. If I bypass the windows machine router and go straight to a linksys router, I can download and update my database, if I don't, running WGET returns some 401 unauthorized errors.

Guess somehow the header is getting corrupted?

Anyway, fill database running as we speak...

I was originally trying to route through a windows box because I didn't want to have to setup a wireless card in my mythtv box since...well...I don't have an extra wireless card laying around that *will* work in linux.
