Hi!

I have just built my first mythtv box.. and everything seems to be working....

But I do not wish to go throu my cable-decoder.. It seems the point is lost if I have to change channel on that as well..

I had a program/filter called cablecrypt on my windows machine to be able to skip this step.. Is there a possibility to do the same om a myth-TV box?

What filter do I apply and where can I find it?

Thanks for a great package!

If you are talking about something to decrypt the digital signals then I do not know of one, and even if there were one it would not me discussed here as it would be strictly illegal under the DMCA.

BTW - The usual trick is to control the cable box with an IR blaster, serial port, usb, or firewire, with the IR blaster being by far the most common.

If you're an entertainment industry legal staffer trolling (or just one lurking and reading this) (Conspiracy theorists? Who us?) I hope you manage to get your mouse and keyboard embedded in a place which requires an incredibly painful, humiliating and expensive trip to the emergency room, and years of ineffective counseling which never really help you overcome the trauma. Oh, and I hope your mouse clogs up with lint too.

Or the somewhat more explanatory: this site is hosted in the USA (as are the developers), and due to rather frightening legal reasons, discussion of bypassing copy/content-control mechanisms is forbidden.

Ahh.. sorry.. totaly forgot about your DMCA.

We dont have that kind of thing over here (Sweden). Nothing illegal about decrypting the signal that I allready have payed for..

But sorry about my question, I will not ask about this again! :)
