Post subject: | Cannot Initialize LiveTV |
I'm sure everyone has seen this before. I'm sure there are thousands of different solutions in the forums. I've been on here around 3 hours now and haven't found a single solution to this yet. I thought that my PVR350 wasn't installing. But when I look at dmesg, it seems to be ok. Code: root@mythtv:/etc# dmesg | grep PVR ivtv: Autodetected WinTV PVR 350 card ivtv: Configuring WinTV PVR 350 card with 9 streams ivtv: Initialized WinTV PVR 350, card #0 So I read a thread that ivtv needs to be probed in /etc/modules. I added ivtv-fb to this file...then rebooted. lspci gives me the following output after reboot: Code: root@mythtv:~# lspci
0000:00:00.0 Host bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8366/A/7 [Apollo KT266/A/333] 0000:00:01.0 PCI bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT82xxxxx UHCI USB 1.1 Controller (rev 23) 0000:01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV17 [GeForce4 MX 440] (rev a3) So does this output mean my PVR350 isn't being initialized even though dmesg tells me it is? Can someone point me in the right direction? |

Adding ivtv-fb to /etc/modules Gave me different results now. Instead of "failed to initialize Live TV" I get a black screen. Perhaps I shouldn't have done that? Maybe I selected the wrong source for my card? If so, how does one go back into the setup process? Can I re-run mythTV setup (I don't want to abuse the zap2it connections)? |
