I am using RA15.1 and find that if I fast forward, rewind or pause a recording for any length of time MythTv locks up and I have to reboot, just killing the front end does not work as the last displayed picture remains on screen and when i reload the frontend where there should be a graphic I just see the last picture showing through. Also finding that going from the guide back to live tv or a recording gives me a black screen and I have to press the info button to get the picture to reappear, this is really frustrating. Is anyone else experiencing this? any suggestions as to what I can do to resolve the instability issues or is it just like that? I am using the pvr 350 for tvout. Once these bugs are ironed out it will be perfect ![]() Any help appreciated |

well pvr350 tvout is problematic, but I don't think everyone had as many problems as you are describing, but I can tell you I use nvidia tvout, and no xvmc and my box has none of those problems. it is rock solid unless I decide to go tinker with new ivtv versions or some hdtv stuff. Basically any crashes or lockups are of my own making. |

would updating to the lateswt ivtv be worth while doing? also do you not find the output from your nvidia card washed out and not very sharp? |

sounds like an ivtv-fb issue. before upgrading to more recent dev versions of ivtv, read recent discussions on the ivtv-dev list to see if they're currently adding or removing bugs to the tv-out. ![]() -brendan |

I find my nvidia tvout just fine, but then again I am using vga -> component converter at 720p. when I was using the svid output it was slightly washed out, but with some tweaking not too bad, but you could still tell it from cable pluged directly into the tv. |
