Hey anyone know what I would edit to have irxevent start up before mythfrontend so that my remote will work on boot. I think this is the only thing I have left to have the system in a completely usable form from boot.

LIRC isn't included in R3 you can download the kernel source and compile LIRC or wait for R4.

Yes I realize this. I have downloaded the kernel source and compiled a new kernel with the lirc modules and alsa and the ivtv drivers, my question is where do I put irxevent to have it start on boot so I don't have to leave mythtv open and xterm start irxevent close the xterm and restart mythtv. I can do all this, but it's a bit much for the girlfriend.
