Post subject:  DVB-T sound problem (Aus)

I have KnoppMyth R5A116 up and running using a DVICO Fusion Lite card. I'm using a minimal set of channels, just the SD versions of the free to air. I don't get sound on some channels (ABC2, both SBS, 7).

The dtv_pids and dtv_channel tables are now redundant (I think) - so it is no longer clear where the audio (or video) pids are obtained from. I'd guess that its either in dtv_multiplex or that the information is determined dynamically and is no longer configurable.

Has anyone fixed similar problems before ? I've seen mention of the same problem in an earlier release of Myth, but it was solved by judicious changes to dtv_pids.

Cheers

Wow! R5A116... I certainly hope I don't have to produce that may alphas. But since you are from the future perhaps you can tell me what all we've included. This can give me a jump start so I don't have to produce that many. ;)

Try pressing + to select a different audio track. The changelog for mythtv 18.1 said something about fixing audio track selection for dvb, but I have found it seems to be broken with 18.1 and it was fine with 18. How did you limit the number of channels? If I scan I just get them all.

Thanks, I'll give it a whirl.

...Later: The channel change worked on a temporary basis, but having seen the OSD text is displayed, I managed to google a more persistant solution:
Use the advanced options in the card configuration to set the recording mode to TS instead of PS. Thanks for getting me there, I hope it works for you too.

w.r.t the extra channels, I've turned off the visible flag on all of the others, although they still seem to replicate occasionally with a new chanid. It is annoying. I can see that someone else has had that problem & is trying to get an answer: http://tinyurl.com/8zdjz (& elsewhere).

[cesman, you are doing an excellent job, 15 or 16 hours into the future, I think R5A116 was the result of a time-travel paradox, which destroyed itself once spotted]
