I've successfully setup my audio to go through the digital out on my shuttle box for Live TV and Recorded Programs. I now want to use SPDIF with xine so that my DVD's will work with 5.1 surround DTS in conjunction with my Sony receiver. I read several posts and also followed the KnoppWiki. Under XineDVDHowTo is said to simply select Pass Through under the xine menu. I did that with no luck. The KW also said to modify two lines in my .xine/config file under DigitalAudioHowto. http://knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page ... AudioHowTo I couldn't find those particular files (there were several that were similar). Code: --EDIT: R5A12 - for a Shuttle SN41G2V2 and xine Go edit /home/mythtv/.xine/config 1.) Make sure that audio.speaker_arrangement says Pass Through 2.) Comment out the line starting with audio.alsa_a52_device:iec958.... The following are the different combo's i've used within Mythsetup: Code: xine -fs -vo
xine -A alsa -fs -vo I read that alsa was needed for DTS playback so I tried to force alsa, still didn't help. Any suggestions? |

For some reason the movies I tried were not encoded with AC3 and that's why no sound was coming out of xine. SOLVED. |
