Post subject:  Unicode font problem

I recently installed KnoppMyth, r5a15.

I ripped a lot of music using it, and the built-in CDDB lookup thing.

All the music plays good, but some of the cds have foreign-language characters in their titles (accents, umlaut, etc)

Right fromt he begining, in the Import CD screen, these characters are each displayed as two boxes. The same appears in the Play Music screen.

I have done a lot of searching about this, and have found some similar problems, but wiht no solution.

What I tried was insatalling the Bitstream Cyberbit truetype unicode font, and using qtconfig to map Arial to CyberBit. While it is apparent that the new font is being used (font is visible different from arial), the problem with the two boxes instead of special charcters remains.

Any help/hints appreciated. Is fixing this even possible, or does mythmusic simply not support it?

Thanks!

I'm having a similar issue with r5e50

I tried to follow what was posted here:
http://melkor.dnp.fmph.uniba.sk/~garabi ... howto.html

but so far no luck
I've gotten everything else just the way I want it and am really afraid to break things by changing locale to unicode

good reason to do a backup I suppose..
