Hi, Some how, assuming fat fingers, in the mythtv-setup, one of the entries for the ip's got transposed. 192.168 became 192.186. ![]() Would have done a reload but thats another thread. My friend is running R5A16. Backend is fine, Mike |

Well, run mythtv-setup again, then option one, General, and make sure that the IP address for mythtv, and Master Server IP address is set correctly. Those should be the two places that you need to make sure are correct. If your IP address isn't right, you may also want to bring up the command prompt and run netcardconfig in order to reconfigure your IP address. Between those two options, you should be able to fix your IP issues. If that still doesn't work for you, or you just like more pain, you can update mysql via something like... # mysql mythconverg -e 'update settings set data="192.168.1.100" where value="MasterServerIP";' # mysql mythconverg -e 'update settings set data="192.168.1.100" where value="BackendServerIP";' But the GUI should do. ![]() -Aubrey |

Hi alewman, I wish it was as easy as starting the GUI but with the incorrect ip, it won't start . (frontend either of course) so really appreciate the mysql statement! I will let you know how it works out. Thanks Mike |

Hi alewman, The mysql didn't completely fix the problem however it did fix it enough that we could redo an upgrade and reinstall the system. I don't know how things work with the upgrade however, it must look at some current information before it does the actual process. Before we ran your script it would fail to do an upgrade and blow out with an error. Something about 1024 if I recall correctly, we tried several times with the same failure. (I ment to write down) After we ran the correction, it accepted the R5A16 upgrade and went in fine. In less than an hour I had his Dell 2.4ghz, 512meg, 200gig, 2)pvr350 cards, on board ethernet, on board audio, playing tv out on one card, recording on the second card, and annoucing the time every thiry minutes, running pretty every thirty minutes and only lost a few recordings. Oh yes, this was all done via ssh and telephone (he was my hands & eyes for the gui / tv) Your mysql commands I far as I can determine, saved his day. ![]() Thanks again for the help Mike |

Oh cool, I wondered how your situation turned out. I didn't see your resolution post until just now. I still wonder what happened to your settings in the first place to get that system in such a lurch. But whatever, as long as you've got it going. -Aubrey |

Hi alewman, I suspect it may have had some help with little fingers helping, or at least a moment of distraction caused by a four year old ![]() The mysql commands did fix something as it allowed the reinstall to run using the upgrade feature, thanks again! Mike |
