I just started messing around with KnoppMyth. I am waiting for my tv capture card, so i can't do much just yet, I wanted to get familar with Linux before I tried to get mythtv up and running.
Where are some good sources of information for using Linux in general?
I managed to get Firefox installed so i can get online, but I have no idea how to add it to the right click menu on the main workspace (after exiting mythfrontend).
Are there any guides out there to help transition from win to linux?

Where to find Linux info... This
Google link should get you started. TLDP will give you lots and lots of information.

Did you install it via apt-get? If so, I'm surprise that it wasn't added to the menu (Apps > Net?).

Hi mattyc,
There is also a lot of very good information right here on the forum and which is more directed towards KnoppMyth. There is some very good information from authors Xsecrets, tjc, plus many more and cesman. Read his first as he has very valuable tips and pointers! You can click on the author and read all posts by that person.

Welcome to the linux world :)

It would be good if phpbb search allowed you to search for all posts by cesman that didn't include "perhaps a search of the forum".

Hi Greg Frost,
Be nice :) I am sure that it can be a bit annoying after a year or so of simular questions that probably could be answered with a search. In all fairness it is sometimes hard to chase something down with a search, I have had trouble finding stuff that I know is here on the forum! As the content and user entries grow, it is getting more difficult to narrow a find. Nice thing is it doesn't cost anything to try two or more searches.

I just keep smiling :) It also make people wonder what you are up to!
