I've recorded two shows off the sci-fi channel. They both recoded with annoying vertical lines over the picture. Here are some screen captures:

Using "Watch Live TV" I can tune to the Sci-Fi channel and the picture comes in fine with no vertical interferance. (I checked all three of my tuners.) The interferance is seen on the output from my myth-box and when viewing on my wintel box.

Here is a breaf summary of my setup:
Celeron 3Ghz
hauppauge pvr-350 & pvr-500
recoding profile: mpeg-2 @720x480 default bitrate
no transcoding of recording

Any ideas why the recordings are comming out so bad? Watch Live Tv should look the same but it doesn't?

Well the biggest difference I can think of with watch live vs. recording for later is that the video card is very active and may cause RF interference, either directly or through the cables or TV. Also if your power supply is weak the extra drain may be an issue. Try rearranging your cables and hardware to help to avoid cross talk...
