Post subject: | Announcement: A Batch TV.com Grabber - 1.12 *BUG FIXED* |
Here is the help output: Code: TV.com Batch Grabber (v1.12) by Jesse Anderson based on code by Tim Harvey, Andrei Rjeousski Looks through the TV shows held in the videos database and performs queries using the www.tv.com website. usage: ./tvbatchgrabber.pl -hviANHUP [parameters] -h help -v display version -i display info -A Get TV.com data for ALL movies in database -N Get TV.com data for NEW movies in database (DEFAULT) -Host Specify a new host (DEFAULT:127.0.0.1) -User Specify a new user (DEFAULT:mythtv) -Password Specify a new password (DEFAULT:mythtv) -Images Whether to download images or not (Default:No) -ImageDir Specify a new directory for images (DEFAULT:/myth/movie_posters/) -SpecifyImage The fully qualified path of the image (NOTE: You must specify a show name) -Type Specify a format to figure out season/episode (DEFAULT:0) Currently Supported: 0: Show Name-S1-E1-Episode Name.avi or Show Name-S1-E2.avi 1: Show Name - S01E01 - Episode Name.avi -ShowName Only process a certain show (DEFAULT:ALL) Program Description: You have probably used the Utilities/Setup->Video Manager->Search IMDB function to get the data for your movie of IMDB. However, there was not a way to get TV show data. Batch TV.com Grabber does all of this and gets the images for those shows from the IMDB. Process Description: First, it gets all of the database entries based on the ALL or NEW selection. Then it queries TV.com to get the number. If there are multiple search hits, it gives you a list and a prompt to choose the right one. Then it gets the data from TV.com and puts it in the database. Finally all of images are downloaded. I don't have a link where you can download it yet. For now you will have t o create your own file and make it executable. Here is the code for tvbatchgrabber.pl: Code: #!/usr/bin/perl
# # This perl script is intended to perform movie data lookups based on # the popular www.imdb.com website # # For more information on MythVideo's external movie lookup mechanism, see # the README file in this directory. # # Author: Tim Harvey (tharvey AT alumni.calpoly DOT edu) # Modified: Andrei Rjeousski # Modified Again: Jesse Anderson # v1.1 # - Added amazon.com covers and improved handling for imdb posters # v1.2 # - when searching amazon, try searching for main movie name and if nothing is found, search for informal name # - better handling for amazon posters, see if movie title is a substring in the search results returned by amazon # - fixed redirects for some movies on impawards use DBI; use LWP::Simple; # libwww-perl providing simple HTML get actions use HTML::Entities; use URI::Escape; use XML::Simple; use Getopt::Long; $title = "TV.com Batch Grabber"; $version = "v1.12"; $author = "Jesse Anderson based on code by Tim Harvey, Andrei Rjeousski"; my $host = '127.0.0.1'; my $db = 'mythconverg'; my $db_user = 'mythtv'; my $db_password = 'mythtv'; my $sql; my $fileNameType = 0; my $imageDir = '/myth/movie_posters/'; my $showName = ''; my $specifyImage = ''; my $hflag = ''; my $iflag = ''; my $vflag = ''; my $Nflag = ''; my $Aflag = ''; my $Imageflag = ''; GetOptions("h"=>\$hflag, "i"=>\$iflag, "v"=>\$vflag, "N"=>\$Nflag, "A"=>\$Aflag, "Images"=>\$Imageflag, "Host=s"=>\$host, "Username=s"=>\$db_user, "Password=s"=>\$db_password, "Type=i"=>\$fileNameType, "ImageDir=s"=>\$imageDir, "ShowName=s"=>\$showName, "SpecifyImage=s"=>\$specifyImage ); # print out info if ( $vflag ) { version(); exit 1; } if ( $iflag ) { info(); exit 1; } # print out usage if needed if ( $hflag ) { help(); } if ( $fileNameType == 0 ) { #Show Name-S1-E1-Episode Name.avi or Show Name-S1-E2.avi $fileNameSearch = "%$showName%-S%-E%.%"; } elsif ( $fileNameType == 1 ) { #Show Name - S01E01 - Episode Name.avi $fileNameSearch = "%$showName% - S%E% - %"; } if ( $Aflag ) { print "Processing all database entries\n\n"; #Do all database hits that are in the database regardless of data $sql = "select inetref, filename, intid from videometadata where filename like \"$fileNameSearch\" order by filename"; startBatchProcess(); } elsif ( $Nflag ) { print "Processing new database entries\n\n"; #Do all database hits that haven't been found on IMDB already $sql = "select inetref, filename, intid from videometadata where inetref = 00000000 and filename like \"$fileNameSearch\" order by filename"; startBatchProcess(); } elsif ( length( $specifyImage ) != 0 ) { if ( $showName eq '' ) { die "You must specify a show name. There is a limitation in the number of episodes a season can have. Each season is limited to 24 episodes due to some weirdness with TV.com. |

Are there any other common Episode/Season naming schemes that you would like to see in TV batch grabber? |

gave this a try and it didn't grab anything. it took about 1/2 second to print up: Processing all database entries Time to get all database entries and query TV.com... Working Done getting TV.com show list. Time for you to sort out any shows that had more than one hit... Done getting TV.com refs. Time to get data and put it in database... Working All Done. |

The script works, but it's not finding any matching filenames in your mythvideo database. The script posted above supports two naming formats, and you must specify which you want it to look for using the command line argument. If none of your files match the one you chose, it'll simply fly through the list in zero time. Presumably Jesse plans to add support for more types of filenames in the future, but right now you should rename your TV show files so that they adhere to one of the following naming conventions; Show Name-Snn-Enn.blahblah.avi or Show Name - SnnEnn - blah.avi (capital S and E), where nn is the season & episode number. This allows the script to strip away all the blather that usually accompanies these files and search for just the actual show name. |

i have been doing a little bit of fiddling with the way it reads the names today. i understand now why it was reading the files, exactly as you put it. but still i am not having any luck really getting anything. will see what i can come up with. cheers |

I'm not sure why it isn't working for you. I would just make sure that the file names are *exactly* like the way I have them. Otherwise the SQL query won't work right. I was waiting for people to submit some other common file naming schemes to implement them. As of yet, no one has done that. |

As the help message says, it only supports the following naming schemes: Type 0: Show Name-S1-E1-Episode Name.avi or Show Name-S1-E2.avi Type 1: Show Name - S01E01 - Episode Name.avi And you actually need to specify that type. |

ok here is my example cold.case.s01e01.Look.Again.avi i have chosen the 2nd option and fiddled with it a little, but still no luck. i am not sure if its the . or if its the two worded name that is the problem. since i can get csi.s05e24.grave.danger.avi to sort of read up. i have changed the s and e to lower case and removed some of the spaces in the code. thanks again for your help i recon with a little tweaking this will work great ![]() |

The periods are messing up the parsing and searching. Until I have a chance to add that type, you will need to take: cold.case.s01e01.Look.Again.avi and make it: cold case - s01e01 - Look Again.avi and try again (notice no periods). |

A suggestion for a small feature change; Make the pattern match for SnnEnn case insensitive Take the show name (ie everything before SnnEnn) and replace all dots with spaces. Shows with a dash or underline in their names (ie E-Ring for instance) do not work currently, seem to be replaced with spaces.. Btw, there seems to be a bug which causes some of the wgets to lack the URL. the command line becomes "wget -O /myth/movie_posters/nnn.jpg" and wget complains that you must supply a valid URL. Could not find any sane reason why this is happening from looking at your perl code though... |

Renamed all my files to fit Type 0 but I run into these weird things: Code: Done getting TV.com refs. Time to get data and put it in database...
Working.....Could not find Battlestar Galactica-01-16 moving on... Could not find Battlestar Galactica-01-17 moving on... ....................................Could not find House-01-08 moving on... ...... Galactica S1-E16 and S1-E17 don't exist so where is it getting that? House S1-E8 exists but the grabber can't seem to find it. Any ideas N. |

I had to include a part specifically for Battlestar. Code: if ( $workingname eq "battlestar-galactica-2003" ) {
#workaround since new battlestar galactica started with the miniseries $episode = $episode + 2; } They include the miniseries in with the regular season episodes. |

That explains; I had adjusted the numbering to fit the one of tv.com. So either I need to remove that code or just change my numbering back. |

I've been fiddling with your code and made some small fixes here & there to correct things I suspect were typos or bugs. This patch is just work in progress, but there are some useful changes I thought I ought to share. I have added support for two more naming conventions; Show Name.SnnEnn.BlaBla.avi (also with lowercase 's' and 'e') Show Name.nnn.Bla.avi (1 digit season + 2 digit episodes) I've added the flag -D to command line to turn on debugging (very verbose) Lastly, the -Title flag will search your movie database for all matches to the string you supply, so you can force a repopulate for TV shows that have an incorrect description.
