Hello, I was frustrated by the lack of debs for ffmpeg & vlc that are compatible with mythstreamtv. You see, the ffmpeg & vlc that ship with R5A16 (debian) don't include the necessary functionality to work with mythstreamtv. I've built a set that DO work, after much pain and toil. I'd write a howto for building your own debs, but I don't think I can be very precise as it was largely a process of trial and error. (many errors from apt & dpkg. what a pain!) It would be much easier to simply distribute the .debs. Is anyone interested in these .debs? |

why dont you add to the Wiki in the mythstreamtv entry. You can add attachments or links to download from somewhere else. You can also add text to the wiki entry on how to get/apply the debs. Did you include the --enable-pvr switch to the vlc configuration? |

well there are size limits on the attachments, so I'm not sure if that would work, don't know how big the debs are, plus if they become too much of a drain on the bandwith I'll have to remove them, because the bandwith is limited at this time, though I'm currently only running about 1/3 of my limit. |
