I have a laptop that I was trying to turn into a frontend. It works perfectly except for the tv-out. I can get the tv-out to work, but what it sends to the tv is a blue mess. I tried multiple drivers and what not but was unable to get the output looking good. The video controller in the laptop is a Radeon Mobility 7500. I'm ready to give up, but before I did I thought I would post and see if anyone else out there has gotten this working.

Myth works great using the lcd on the laptop...

well I haven't heard many success stories, but there was one person who posted about getting tvout to work with the binary ati drivers, you could do a search for that.

It should say "Radeon (ATI in general) is the bane of Linux." I several ATI Radeons and All in Wonders that I could use. Their drivers just suck for Linux.

Well, I was hoping to not spend any money, but how much would a transcoder set me back? Is there a tried and true one?
