I tried Fedora and mythtv. I tried Gentoo and mythtv. Both unsuccesfully. Now ive come to Knoppmyth. I'm downloading it as we speak, but I have one reservation, the age of some of the drivers and the kernel.

I have never installed knoppix, so I dont know how hard it is to install the latest and greatest software available, both on the linux side and on the myth software side. Is it possible? Is it difficult?

do you really want latest and greatest, of do you want a set ov software versions that has been selected to work and tested together.

Once your system is running, you can upgrade anything you want, but unless you are having issues somewhere, not sure why you would.
