Post subject:  convert and burn 'lost' programs

I have lost and recovered my installation ov R5V16. most every thing is rreturned to normal and could be recovered except my tv recordings. the actual video files are there but all the info about them is gone. I have little knowedge of linux (but it grows every day) but i want to convert and burn these lost files to discs. The commands (nuvexport and nuv2disc) ive found only work with files ive recorded since the crash. Ive tried coping these to my main box and change the filename to .mpg and run to no aval. is there a way with the myth installed tools to move these on to a DVD for watch later preferably also on a standalone player?

Changing the extension to .mpg only works if your hard an MPEG hardware encoder. As MPlayer is patch for NUV, you could try Mencoder.
