I was recording this evenings NLCS game and I noticed that it was recording fine. I went to 'watch tv' and there was no sound on any channel in live tv. I switched over to recordings and noticed that the NLCS game was still recording, and proceeded to watch it, and there was sound?!? I don't know why live tv has no sound. My system is a pvr-150, a pvr-250, the audio output of each pvr goes into a SB pci card mic, and line in. Previous to today that have been working fine. I had some video issues with the pvr-150 and last night I upgraded my ivtv from 0.2.0 to 0.4.0 and this fixed the video issue.
I pulled up alsamixer and noticed that line in, and mic both showed the "M" (or "MM" not sure at this point) at the bottom of the line so i hightlighted each, and pressed 'm' key to remove, this did not fix the problem still. Anybodye else notice this strange behavior?
Thanks

the strange thing is why you have audio out from pvr cards going to your sound cards input. pvr cards mux the audio into the mpeg2 stream and do not require the patch cable.

What type of PVR card has an audio output, the 350? At that point you should probably skip the soundcard entirely...

yeah...well i guess that is strange. Looks like I'm trying to make it more complicated than it needs to be. And those are input on the pvr's...i don't know why I thought they needed to be hooked up that way.

I removed the cables I had used to connect the sound card inputs to the pvr card audio inputs (that I thought were outputs), and the sound still works (obviously). But still what would explain watching a recording having sound and leaving the recording to watch another channel or another recording and the niether one will have sound. It seems to stop that you have to wait till the recording ends on its own, or stop it then go back into a recording or to back into live tv again.
Could it be that one pvr-*50 is tied up with the recording, and when attempting to watch live tv, myth uses the other pvr-*50, and on this one the sound isn't working? IF this is the the case...it doesn't seem that would cause no sound when trying to watch another recording while there is a recording going on, as this would not require the other pvr-*50.
