I have been trying for many hours now to get a pvr-150 working in my system. I also have a pvr-250 which has been in the box for months now working fine. I have attached the part of my syslog where the 150 fails to load. I followed the wiki, and when that failed I searched out more threads but have not found a solution. If someone could please point me in the right direction I would be very thankful.

well I haven't worked with the pvr150's, but I think the following is the root of your problem.
Quote:
Oct 13 20:44:54 mediabox kernel: ivtv0: Error -19 reading Hauppauge eeprom.
Oct 13 20:44:54 mediabox kernel: ivtv0: Possible causes: the tveeprom module was not loaded, or
Oct 13 20:44:54 mediabox kernel: ivtv0: the eeprom kernel module was loaded before the tveeprom module.

make sure tveeprom is loading lsmod | grep tveeprom and look in the logs for tveeprom for more info cat /var/log/messages | grep tveeprom.

Update..

I have the PVR-150 working perfectly and I didn't break the 250 in the process. The Error -19 was solved by putting the card into a different slot, go figure, at that point the 150 worked but the 250 didn't. Then I got rid of the /etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv and both tuners work.

The downside is that I killed my remote, ... the wife is gonna kill me tonight, oh well, off to find more info,

Thanks for the help

Hello All,

I have a problem with my PVR-150 remote not working as well. I installed the R5A20 release and got the remote working but the minute I moved the box in to the livingroom it stopped. Moved it back to the den, still no luck. Fussed around, got it to work once. Moved it back, still no luck. Almost seems like a cable short?

I two have the dogbone remote with the coloured buttons across the bottom that was mentioned recently.

I'm currently burning R5A22 and am going to fresh install that and see if I have any better luck.

Does anyone have R5A22 working with the silver remote that comes with the PVR-150?

Thanks,

-Jeff

Update:

I installed R5A22 (Wow! Best yet!) and in the process discovered that the remote stops working for my PVR-150 the minute I unplug the keyboard. If I boot the system with the keyboard present its fine. If I unplug the keyboard and reboot, no remote. Not sure what the magic there is. I didn't see this on R5A16. I have disabled the keyboard check in the BIOS.

If anyone has any thoughts, most appreciated.

-Jeff

UPDATE: The keybd thing might be coincidence, I've lost control of the remote again, regardless of keybd presence. Not sure what exactly is going on...

Hmmm...this sounds awfully familiar.

Try my post here, regarding patch for svn version of ivtv:
http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5259&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30

Let us know if that helps. Perhaps this patch was implemented in the latest
version of ivtv.
