I have TV-out working on the PVR-350 card with the ivtv driver. I have a couple issues. First, the only options for displaying the guide are 'transparent'. When I had it going through the monitor, I remember the guide showing the tv picture in the top right corner, the program information on the top left and the guide on the bottom. Can I get this back to display a guide that is not transparent? Second, when I view the guide and then hit esc to exit, the screen is blank until I hit 'Info', then and only then will the TV picture come back. Why does this happen? I don't remember it happening while going through the monitor. Is this a problem with the ivtv driver? If so, can I fix these issues?

This is indeed related to the ivtv drivers, as far as I have learned. A while back, I upgraded from 0.2.0-rc3j to one of the 0.3.0 drivers, and it didn't help. Actually, I had scads of recording-related errors after that, and so rolled back.

Lately I've had my PVR-350 output freezing on me during playback (just the program stream; i.e., the OSD will pop up and say it's rewinding but the picture stays on the same frame until a hard reset)

This morning, I noticed that ivtv-0.4.0 has been released. I downloaded the latest firmwares, installed 0.4.0, and have set a couple of test shows to record. IF they look good, I'll see if switching from EPG to live television is any better.

I never had the EPG with picture in the corner, so I don't miss it. But, it sure sounds nice.

Personally, if I still get freezes during playback, I'm going to read up on using my nvidia S-Video output. I can't take much more of that nonsense, it was enough to make me reconnect my ReplayTV this week as a backup. I'm hopeful that the new firmware and driver will help - will let you know!

Thanks for the response Steve. I haven't had any trouble with freezing - I'm using 3.3u. My main problem with Myth so far is the transition from EPG to live tv, which I could live with if need be.

I upgraded to the latest ivtv driver (0.4.0) and have been using it pretty much since it was released. I've noticed some freezing problems with this upgrade. It would freeze, not when watching tv or recording (I don't think), but when just sitting there. When not watching TV, I usually exit the live TV feed and have it in the Mythtv menu. When I come back to it at a later time, Myth is completely frozen. I've missed a couple recordings due to this. I went back to 0.3.3u and it seems to be back to normal again (haven't had a freeze in three days). Anyone else having problems with .4?
