Subject says it all. After copying and pasting the lircd.conf file into /etc and the .lircrc into mythtv's home, mythtv will not respond to the remote. irw will show me the remote codes all day long, but again, myth does nothing on any keypress. Where should I start looking for the fix? I'm about a day away from wiping my nicely configured mythbox and doing a fresh install on it.

Did the lirc-reconfig script work? It should...

I had the same problem - see the wiki (http://knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=LIRCHowTo).

I think I had to reboot before my remote started working. Even though I get the signals in irw.

An hour after posting this last night, I got myth to recognize the remote (finally). The goofy reconfig script says there are no mappings for my silver hauppauge remote and quits..so like cesman said in another thread, I tried to get it working with the grey settings. Didn't work, and it seemed like it should have copied some config files around but all it did was stop and restart the lirc daemon.

I dug around in the Remotes sticky thread and towards the end wifi posted his lircd.conf. That helped alot. Then I got some lircrc off the web..the keymappings are completely retarded but at least it's recognizing the remote now.

So now I wait patiently for wifi to post his lircrc so I can have some reasonable mappings. I'm getting fed up just enough to create my own from scratch, especially since I use xine for dvd playback and haven't found a good config yet.

Thanks for your suggestions.
