When mythtv (Knoppmyth R5A22) runs mythfilldatabse it fails with error 512 but it runs fine when logged into the console as the user mythtv. Reading the log (see copy below) , it seems to be looking for the config file in //.mythtv/au.xmltv . I don't understand the double slash at the start, but could it be looking in the root, not in the user's home (where this file exists)?

Hi,

I had the same problem with the french grabber. You have to set the Home environment variable in the startup script for mythtv. If you don't find out how to do it, I'll post more details as soon as I'm home tonight,

Would be great if that could be fixed for the next release.

Great. So the double slashes should have the missing environment variable between them.

Now, I found the script in /etc/rc5.d that starts and stops mythbackend. Is that the one? If so, do I just add a line like

Home=/home/mythtv

to it? Is it a capital 'H' on home?

Hi,

in
/etc/init.d/mythtv-backend

I added the following line
HOME=/home/mythtv

directly after
DESC="MythTV server"

Please tell me if this also works for you.

Yep, it works (after I remembered to restart the backend :( ) Thank you for the help.
