No we don't, since there are at least 4-5 differernt thing you could mean. If you can't be clear don't expect us to guess. - Unencrypted QAM straight out of the wall? - Encrypted cable right out of the wall? - A digital cable box with analog output? - A digital cable box with digital output? - ... |

Sorry i didnt put this in the post above but is there any way to set it up so i could use my cable box to decrypt it and record the signal from the cable box or would that be too messy |

Newbie lesson number 1. If you'd have stated all this in the first place, you'd have gotten the answer earlier. Don't just assume we know what you are talking about... If you're cable box has composite/svideo or coax out, you can run this to the your tuner cable. You can then use an "irblaster" to control the cable box. |

I think some people use firewire too, if that is an available option, it all depends on your cable box. To put it in basic terms, MythTV can accept any signal it receives from a TV card, that could be from an aerial, a composite or s-video connection. |

If it is a Motorola/GI cable box you may be able to use the serial port to change channels. I use a serial IR Blaster to control mine. The HD versions of the box use firewire. |

The firewire port (even if enabled) may or may not help. The FCC only requires that the firewire transport unexcrypted those signals in the "basic" tier and anything you could get over the air. So even if you can get the data from the set top box to MythTV via firewire it might (and probably will be) still encrypted for all the cable only channels and premium services. |
