Searched google and searched here using : "file associations" mythvideo iso

Never found the answer.

What command do I have to put in to the file associations menu to get a DVD iso to playback?

File type: iso
command: ______

P.S. If your just going to say search for it... I tired I swear I did. Please provide a link that shows me the exact command line to put in. Any help would be great.

An ISO is just a CD or DVD image, the actual video could be anything! DVD video, VCD, SVCD, divx...

Here are some starting points, but I'm afraid you're going to have to do the research and put the pieces together yourself.

- The first thing you need to do is what is called a "loopback mount" of the iso image. This is how you deal with a file that contains a filesystem image in Unix/Linux.

- After that you should be able to point xine or mplayer at the image and tell them what type of media it's supposed to be. There should be some old posts by me around that describe how to do this in the context of troubleshooting MythBurn aka MythTVBurn.

MPlayer should be able to play .iso w/o issue. I don't know about Xine however.

After several hours of searchs and many lines that didn't work here is one that does.

File extentions menu...
make a new extention for .iso

Then in command: xine -pfhq dvd:%s

Works for the 2 iso s I ripped to my drive.
