Post subject: | Trying to learn... |
First, a note to Cecil and team - I have been a member of this forum since January of 2004. As an old assembler programmer (many years ago working for Ross Perot at EDS in Dallas - that really dates me) that had gotten out of practice. I used this project as a tool to learn linux and, in the process, built what I think is a pretty sophistcated system (currently running R5A22 - multple frontends). It has been fun and educational with help from many in this forum. I read Cecils note a few days ago (Letting it out) and wanted to tell you that I appreciate the efforts and humor (tjc, I will never chmod 777 again...) that has gone into this. I have tried to help where I could and learn even more. Thanks. Now a question (plea for help). I am trying to figure out how to remove the header section from certain pages in Mythweb (for example, I want to remove the TV, Video, Music, Weather, etc. buttons on music.php). I cannot find it. Any hint? |

Thanks Cesman - I have studied the code in music.php... My question is where is the header loaded? It is not obvious in music.php. I am sure this is minor - I have just overlooked something simple. |

well I looked at it for a second, and it appears to be in the /include/init.php call which I believe calls some other php files where the headers actually reside. Of coure I am no php wizard or any other sort of programming for that matter. |

It looks like there is a theme system for MythWeb. You might need to look in the themes directory. |

Figured it out... Thanks jesse. It is in themes. What I have done is to create a separate version of the music web page (minus the header) and secured it under separate authority so that I can present it outside my firewall. Now I (and wife, children, etc) have access to the music with little risk - nobody (or few) can access the rest of my system. Thanks for the help |
