I am having trouble getting my card (PVR-500) to preset to channel 3. I have set the preset tuner option in mythtv-setup to 3 and starting channel to 3. But everytime I start up the card is on channel 4. Anyone know what is up?

When starting the frontend, it starts with the last viewed channel.

If you stop the front and backend, go to setup and choose channel 3 on both tuners, start the backend, start the frontend and it will be on channel 3

Never could figure this out. I changed to S-Video on my tuner now everything works fine. I assume it had something to do with the signal strength and myth just choosing the next channel.

Hi,
You need to have the channel (3) as a valid place to go or it won't. You can go to mythtv-setup and use the channel edit to make it.

I also added channel one (1), freq id 1 and assigned it to the "Video" that I had made under input sources. Now when I wish to save my home tape recordings I can simply record them on channel 1.

I did find one small fault, that is to leave channel 1, you must select a channel between 2 & 9 (single digit) after that all is normal. It does change correctly under record setups so you can grab the sun rise with your weather camera and also record your favorite cartoons before and after on schedule. :)

Have a great day!
Mike
