I rebuilt a new mythbackend/frontend.

I have 3 HD3000 and 2 PVR 250. The HD3000 are configured using the DVB drivers and the input is OTA? The PVR have two inputs, cable on tuner0 and directv on svideo. I am using a external tuner changing program to change channels via serial cable.

Everything works fine if I want to Watch Live TV. OTA works fine (you may seem some errors in the logs about tuning DVB that is only because this is not the HDTV frontend just disregard), the cable feed works fine and DirectTV works fine with the channel change program.

The issue happens when I want to record. I have tried manual recordings via program guide, custom records, and even pressing R when in Live TV. Each time it says it is recording however looking at the tuner status shows no tuners in use. I also have no recordings when I try to watch recordings. I see them show up in upcoming recordings.

I had this exact same setup using r16 and could record with no issues.

The logs give the following. It looks like it says error recording with VBI device. It also says it cannot change the channel or cannot find svideo input. This is odd because it changes channels fine in LiveTV and I can see the channels fine capturing from the svideo feed.

I did some searching on the main mythtv mailing list and discovered this issue could be resolved by deleting the capture cards and reconfiguring in mythtv-setup.

Records with no issues now!!!

Now I just need to fix the issue with remote frontends not connecting to the backend.

More searching.

There's a recent thread that said you need to poke something in the database to fix the remote frontends. The number "1083" sticks in my head, so try searching for that. Searching for "remote frontend" and requiring all terms should also work.
