Post subject:  R26 Upgrade Mythburn Segmentation Fault at line 768

Hi

Yesterday i spent 8 hours backing all my content to dvd's and then moved up to R26 from R22. at first i got no picture, in watch tv mode, so at 2:30am gave up and went to bed. This morning watch tv mode seems to work and the backend no longer seems to lock up if i tune to a channel which is off air, it used to in R22. :P

The reason for the upgrade was because i wanted to use the mythboxes' frontend, at the present the mythbox lives in the office and i schedule recordings using mythweb. we either watch recordings on the laptop using mplayer or on a dbox2 STB, this will play back DVB-t.nuv files no problems other than the filenames are a bit hard to find for the girlfriend. I just got a plasma tv with a vga input and i thought now was the time to move the box into the living room. after installing R26 the remote on my jetway dvb-t works to a fashion the number butons seem to be the arrows but i think i could manage to edit the lirc file to fix this. :P I will post the lirc file when done.

The problem I am having is with mythburn, i got mythburn to work on R22 by changing the ownership of hdc to www-data and it burned DVDs fine, although other posts since sugest beter ways of getting it to work. I Upgraded to the latest rel of myth burn on cvs and it stoped working with the same fault i am about to describe. Now i am on R26 mythwebburn comes up with

....mythburn.sh line:768 xxxx Segmentation fault nice dvdauthor

sorry cant post exact message as ive not set up a share yet so i can get to the log. I have seen this error described before on this forum but no solution anyone got any ideas ?

Or does anyone know a way of downgrading mythwebburn to the old r22 which worked for me[/b]

Post subject:  Problem solved

The fix for me for this was to
update dvdauthor
and
reload mythburn from cvs

I dont know which fixed it as i did both at once sorry

Had the same problem today on R5A30:
Code:
INFO: Audio ch 1 format: ac3/2ch, 48khz drc

/myth/mythburn/mythtvburn.sh: line 768: 17230 Segmentation fault      nice dvdauthor -o ${dvddir} -x $myxml

Manually ran the command and found that it got about 85% of the way through the data before it died. Upgraded dvdauthor from the current 0.6.10 to 0.6.11:
Code:
# apt-get install dvdauthor
and it now all is well

Post subject:  R5A30 Definitely Broke

Yep upgraded to R5A30 last night and the segmentation fault came back seems mythweb burn requires latest version of dvdauthor.

My fix for the newbies like me is

log in as root

Code:
apt-get update
apt-get install dvdauthor

now i have to reedit all the scripts again to allow me to turn off tcrequadrent from the web interface
