Post subject:  R5A26 - nuv2disc: create kvcd - needed edits to work

I tried to use the Create kvcd function in KnoppMyth > Create DVD > Create kvcd but it wouldn't do anything at first. I almost posted the question here but decided to try and solve the problem myself first.

I discovered that the /myth/nuv2disc/kvcd/movie.sh called mencoder using the path: "/usr/local/bin/mencoder" which actually doesn't exist cos mencoder is now in "/usr/bin". So i just removed the path (as mencoder is already in the path) and the script worked.

I strongly suggest to also edit kvcd_settings (either through the frontend or directly) to match your situation.

Finally, when previewing the mpeg2 the preview shows at 1.7777 ratio so I replaced in /myth/nuv2disc/nuv2disc-skin/commonvars:
Code:
PREVIEW_COMMAND_KVCD="xine -pfhq -r anamorphic  --no-splash"

with
Code:
PREVIEW_COMMAND_KVCD="xine -pfhq --no-splash"

and all showed fine.

Hope this helps someone and maybe gets updated in the next mythtv release...

You mean the 'Burn DVD' on the web interface?

I tried it once and it worked fine until it had to burn the DVD. It was a permission problem cos the www-data user didn't have permissions to use the dvd writer. I added www-data to the cdrom group but haven't actually tried the whole process again. I should expect it to work though.

What problems do you have?

Stop.... You are talking about MythBurn, this thread started off talking about nuv2disc. There are sevral threads on the forum concerning MythBurn. If you issue falls inline with what is being discused in one of those, then continue this discussion in there...

phluxor,
The change will be made in the near future.
Also I didn't think anybody really used the kvcd portion of nuv2disc.

Glad it's working for you
