anyone else having problems with zap2it? mythfilldatabase is not working, and I can't log into the site. Hopefully it's only temporary as the alternative just said they are stopping their service. I'd hate to have to go back to screen scrapes. |

Does anyone know if it's back up again? I'm not at home, so I can't perform the backup procedure as described above, but I can plead with my linux-challenged helpmate to do it if it's necessary. Thanks. |

Ack! I've lost guide data! Ah well, thanks for making this a sticky. There's a good chance I would have made things worse if I didn't see this thread. -Aubrey |

I tried it again and it worked for me. I tried it because I already zapped out today's and tomorrows's guide data, so what did I have to lose? ![]() -Aubrey |

Just a thought, but when are you folks running your DB updates? I haven't even had so much as a hiccup yet. (knock on wood!) The problem could just be sheer volume of people all attempting to DL their schedules at the same default time overwhelming the servers. Have you thought about rescheduling the update for maybe 3PM instead of 3AM? It would be even better if you picked a fairly random time like: Code: echo $(expr $RANDOM % 24):$(expr $RANDOM % 60)

I was letting knoppmyth r5a26 handle the updates, which I think are supposed to happen semi randomy now. Because I didn't have guide data for today, I ran mythfilldatabase from the command prompt a few hours ago. That took out my guide data for tomorrow in addition to leaving today's blank ![]() -Aubrey |

Post subject: | I lost all my data, too |
This may be a bit offtopic, but I set my cron job to run at 3:15 in the afternoon in response to zap2it asking us all not to grab data between 3 and 6am, but something is still making it run at 6am. I don't have a cron job set to do it and I have "automatically run mythfilldatabase" turned off in the mythtv settings. Any ideas as to what maybe causing it to run again at 6am? Anything that could help the cause would be appreciated. |
