Post subject:  Mythburn "Commercial Cut Disabled"

I am running KnoppMyth version R5A16 with Mythburn (CVS) and projectX 0.82.

I have successfully been able to burn recorded shows to DVDs by using the MythWeb interface.

However, I can not get the process to successfully remove the commercials. I always get the message "Commercial Cut Disabled, outputting for DVD format only".

I have searched through this forum and there were a couple of references to this problem, but none of them provided any insight on how to fix my issue.

One post mentioned the problem could be because: "This was because my version mythtv did not generate a cutlist when it did commercial flagging."

How do I know if my version generates a cutlist? Could there be any other reasons why commercial cutting is not working?

I also have some odd messages during the DVD Burning Process such as:
"sendto: Network is unreachable"
"QSettings: error creating /.qt"

Thanks

I don't think the odd messages are anything to worry about. When myth detects commercials, it only records the marks as commercial marks, not cut points. You need to manually load in the commercial marks as cut points. Look at the Mythtv documentation on key bindings to see how to do this. You basically play the recording, go into edit mode and press some key and it will load in the commercial marks as cut points. After this, mythburn may be able to cut the commercials (it works on r5a22). You may want to check the cut points because commercial detection is not always 100% accurate.
