Post subject:  SPDIF with low Bitrate sound.

I download alot of IPTV shows off the net (System, Diggnation, DL.TV, etc) and I am having a problem getting sound out of my optical port on certain shows.

It works fine on LiveTV and recorded shows and any video that has an audio bitrate higher than 128k. The problem is that when I try to watch anything that has audio bitrate (MP3) 128k or lower I stop getting audio out of my SPDIF port. Any quicktime or H.264 video does the same thing. I can switch to my direct analog connection and I do get audio, it is just not passing it through the SPDIF port.

Here are my mplayer settings:

mplayer -fs -zoom -quiet -vf pp=lb -vo xv -ao alsa:device=iec958 -ac hwac3, hwdts, a52, %s

I just added the hwdts and a52 recently to see if it would clear up anything. But it did not work so I may remove those.

I am running R5A26 and my PC is a Shuttle XPC SB51G system which has onboard iec958 sound.

Also if anyone sees anything wrong with my Mplayer command line or has some tweaks for it I would appreciate it, as I am just playing it by ear and adding things as I discover the need for them

Thanks.
