Right now I am just using a computer monitor plugged into the onboard video on my motherboard. Is there a way to make the power button on the remote toggle the vga out? I think it would be a good way to put the monitor into standby as opposed to having to get up and turn the monitor off each time. Thanks in advance. |

I'm sure there must just be a simple linux command to switch the monitor off! Try searching for linux dpms off command or similar. You could try the xset command, I'm not near a linux machine atm so can't try it out. Code: xset dpms force off

I tried that on my box and it didnt do a thing. When browsing a conf file (I forget what it was called exactly), it said that dpms was enabled. Any ideas? |

Hint: /home/mythtv/.fluxbox/apps Hint: [startup] {xset -dpms s off} Turns it off, who needs their TV blanking out on them when watching a show? |

I removed the line and rebooted. "Xset dpms force off" still does nothing in the command line. Is there any other places I should check? My XF86Config file has the Option "DPMS" line under Section "monitor" as well, btw. |
