Post subject: | Audio Stutter on black screens |
r5a26 IS anybody having this problem? Every time there is a transition that is very dark or if most of the screen is black I get severe audio stutter. It is particularly interesting when I tune to Xm radio channels in directv. If the directv screen saver thing has a lot of stuff on the screen (raindrops etc) the audio is fine...but if there is jsut a black background the audio stutters. I have found this problem elsewhere on the net but no solutions. Yeah, this is an old "known issue". Go through the setup screens and enable "extra audio buffering". I forget where it is in the menus. BTW - Nice detailed specs! ![]() |

Thanks, that worked...when I searched for the right thing on the forum I found it. LOL. I had searched for it several times using "sound" instead of "audio" The setting is: "extra audio buffering" under Setup -> TV Settings -> Playback Then exit frontend...and restart frontend... then no stutter (regarding the specs...I am just trying to get help without getting flamed) |

This is generally a pretty easy going group. However there are two sure ways to call down the wrath of heaven:
2) Being seen as wasting peoples time because you couldn't be bothered to do your due diligence. Failing to read the sticky posts containing the rules also falls in this category so it's a double whammy. Failing to search is the biggest complaint in this category. To summarize the rules in rough order of importance (Cecil may very well correct my list or ordering):
- Search the forums and read the sticky posts before you post. Read before you write. Listen before you speak. - Post under the right sub forum as prescribed in the sticky posts. - Do not post ANYTHING in the KnoppMyth Installation which isn't directly related to a problem with the installation process proper. It's intended as Cecil's emergency ward. Post-install issues belong elsewhere. - One topic per thread and don't hijack (change the topic) of threads. Semi-related social chat (like this) usually gets a free pass. - Don't post the same question multiple times. - Keep it G rated. - Make good detailed posts. If you're asking a question, providing a walk through, making a recommendation, provide all the relevant details. - Give the old timers the same benefit of the doubt as you would a sensei at the dojo. The hardcore often make somewhat terse responses, but that's often because they're trying to cover so much ground. Remember just because you're not paying for someones time, doesn't mean that they don't value it. |

Guess I'm using the wrong golf slang (can you tell I don't play the game?) a mulligan is a "do over", and I meant something that's tacitly allowed. Besides that "one topic/no hijack" rule is definitely one of Cecil's and I wouldn't presume to claim ownership. ![]() |
