Post subject:  Serial Port Help - DirecTV
Hello all -

I'm trying to get my Myth box to communicate with my new DirectTV D11 box. I've followed the directions on the wiki:

I'm using a fresh install of the lastest KnoppMyth R5A30.1 release with the BAFO BF-810 and a Null Modem cable. Here is the error I get when trying to invoke the script:

Can't locate Device/SerialPort.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.4 /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.4 /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl/5.8 /usr/share/perl/5.8 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at /myth/directv.pl line 50.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /myth/directv.pl line 50.

It looks like I'm missing some perl library but since I'm not experienced in this area, I was hoping for some advice before I start messing things up.

OK, its working now. For anyone in the same situation, download Device::SerialPort from: http://sendpage.org/device-serialport/

After unpacking it, run the following commands as root:

perl Makefile.PL
make
make install

Give your directv.pl script a test from the command line and it should work now.
