We've been running mythtv for about a year now. First off here are the specs of the machine:

xp1800
8rda+ epox motherboard nforce 4
512MB ddr ram
bt878 ati tv card le
geforce 4 ti4200 vid card
40gig + 160 gig hard drives

Now it has always worked most of the time, we have had problems with the hard drive filling up and then the log files getting full and then crashing myth since there was no more space on the root partition.

We are past that though, right now the video is recording weird. On my windows machine watching the videos they play for 30 seconds, then the video freezes while the audio continues and then about 30 seconds later the video comes back in sync with the audio as if nothing happened.

It acts much different watching it on the myth box, the video simply goes out of sync with the audio and runs slow then skips ahead of the audio.

I have no idea what is going on, we were recording in mpeg4 and tried changing to rtjpeg without any difference.

Here are some error logs that are in the mythtv folder.

DB Error (delta position map insert):

I am hoping that you guys can make heads or tails of this.

Which release of MythTV are you running? Did you change anything prior to this happening?

I am running 30.1, which I just recently upgraded to. Previously at 16 I think. I cannot think of anything I did just before this started happening, it started around the same time I started school so I haven't had much time to poke around either.

BTW thank you for taking interest, I really appreciate it.

You're welcome. You may want to check to see if "extra audio buffering" is checked. It is in the playback portion of the settings (if memory serves).

Did the box get moved between "working" and "not working"? If so have you checked to make sure everything inside is still seated properly, and that all the right external connections were restored?

No it has been in the same spot throughout. I reinstalled knoppmyth over what was there and it seems to be working. I guess I should have done it earlier but was too lazy and didn't want to have to reconfigure everything again.

I did try disabling the extra audio buffers but I think it was a problem recording not playing back. As the file size dropped by about half when this started happening.

Thank you for your help guys. Case is closed for now.
