I hve this very strange problem and since Im a linux newbie I dont know where to start really. Automatic install worked out of the box really. The only thing I had to do was to replace the two files: lircd.conf and lircrc so that my remote worked like I wanted it to. All buttons on my remote works but after a minute or so pressing buttons to navigate through menus, the remote suddenly stops working! lirc process is still running (checked with "ps ax") I even tried restarting lirc "lirc restart" i think I used , but still no remote working. But the really strange thing is that even a reboot doesnt fix it - remote still dead. If I make an auto update of knopp then the remote works again. Ive done this procedure three times now since that s the fastest way (that I know of) to get remote working again. So what would be the first thing to check? I dont know where to look really.. IAnd have no idea what could be wrong. THe only thing Ive done is to replace the two files mentioned above, and it works for a couple of minutes.. then dead. knopp: R5A26 remote: hauppage "grey" A415-HPG Any ideas? remember, Im pretty novice about linux. thx /Martin |

This is a common problem with the IR receiver on the PVR150s. Running this command will usually bring it back to life. ivtvctl --reset-ir Adding this line to you /etc/crontab will run the command every minute * * * * * root ivtvctl --reset -ir It's a band-aid approach, but it'll work. |

The new ivtv drivers are supposed to fix this. See the http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=CompileIvtv page on the wiki for details. |
