anyone else finding duplicate detection a bit 'hit and miss' im seeing duplicates beeing recorded even when the description seems identical - esp 'Little Britain' Its no big deal to delete the duplicates but it can interfere with recording other shows..... |

Sadly we're somewhat at the mercy of the listing source. I've had cases where things were either misidentified as duplicates because the listing source used the same programid and I had to force MythTV to ignore that, as well as cases where it seems to have decided to record every showing because there was no programid or subtitle. |

It's the data that's a bit rough. I'm getting a similar problem with Stargate SG-1. Sometimes it's listed as "T4: Stargate SG-1", then "T4:Stargate SG-1", I'm sure it's been listed as just "Stargate SG-1" too. Timecop also does a similar thing where they sometimes add the subtitle to title... I've resorted to putting in query type schedules based on parts of the title, like "Startgate" and "Timecop". Seems to have fixed it... ![]() |

Soory, misunderstanding. My problem isn't dupes, it's missed recotdings because the title of the show that's sceduled is different to the one in the listing... the query type schedule fixes that, but then I get dupes, which I'd rather have than missed shows... My main point was that it's all down to dodgy listing data... ![]() |
