My PVR is coming along pretty well thanks to Knoppmyth! One outstanding issue I am still having is how I can play encrypted DVDs. A non-encrypted DVD (like Revolution OS) works like a charm. However, whenever I pop in an encrypted DVD (like The Golden Girls: The Definative Collection ![]() # dmesg | grep DVD hdb: GENERIC DVD DUAL 4XMax, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive Vendor: GENERIC Model: DVD DUAL 4XMax Rev: 2.17 Any ideas? For anybody else that may come across this post in searching the archives, this ended up being an issue with my overly-sensitive DVD reader. Any time I try to play a DVD with even a slight imperfection, the system either stops playing the DVD and returns to Myth or locks up. Playing a DVD with no scratches works fine, though. |

Why would you attached your DVD drive as primary slave? Assuming your hard drive is primary master, having a slower device as slave will slow it down. |

cesman, This is an Asus Pundit I am working with and one of the biggest flaws with that unit is that it has only one Ultra ATA 133 channel ![]() AE |
