Post subject: | I messed up my upgrade |
I just upgraded from 28 to 30. I did not do a backup immedialtly before the upgrade. Soooo I see things in the recording list that are no longer there and I can not delete them. I know also that I have things that are not in the recorded listings that I need to ether add back or delete to recover drive space. Can someone please give me some direction on how to fix this problem? |

I did the same thing... I need help with the second part... (Anyone) is there a way to have the recordings that have been recorded since the backup was run, even if they show up under "unknown recording" or something like that? Archer, what I did to find the links in my databases that pointed to files I had already deleted was, 1) went to my /myth/tv (where my recordings are held) and ran Code: rm *.png -f
what this will do is delete the preview of the recordings on the "watch recordings" screen. 2) go to the watch recordings screen, and to all recordings and scroll through one by one and see if a new preview gets generated or not... if it does not, its safe to delete... deleting it will remove all references to the file in the database. |

I did the same thing last night. Even though I can't see the previews, it won't let me delete the recordings from the watch recordings screen. It accepts the delete button but the recording just stays on the list. Does anyone know if there is a command to validate the entries in the database? P.S> to Archer. My PVR150 Remote (which had been wacky) seems to work perfectly with R5A30.2 ![]() |

You should be able to delete the files after "touching" them. Find out the name of the .nuv you want to delete (the easiest ways is probably through mythweb) then from a command line: touch <insertfilenamehere>.nuv |

I know Dale's new installer is coming RSN, but would it be possible to add a message when you chose "Auto Upgrade" that asks "Are you SURE you have a good backup"? Not that people would pay any more attention to that than they do to "The Pamphlet of KnoppMyth" http://mysettopbox.tv/doc.html#autoupgrade ![]() |

Well the _hope_ is that the upgrade process will do a backup just before the install! "RSN" |
