Post subject: | Media player that can skip +/- 30 secs in Transport Streams |
I currently use VLC to playback recordings across my wireless network on my laptop that runs Windows/XP. VLC includes a feature that allows me to skip forward or backwards in 15 or 60 second intervals -- very useful for jumping over commercials. Unfortunately, it is not able to do "jumps"/"skips" on recordings stored as a transport stream. I am looking for a replacement for VLC that supports this function with transport streams, as my understanding is that myth 0.19 only supports transport streams. My experience is that both mplayer and xine support these skip functions when run on Linix on a transport stream. I downloaded mplayer for windows, but it did not handle the skip functions properly on a TS. Does anyone have a player that runs on windows and supports skip functions on transport streams? Thanks! KnoppMyth -> General. Did you read the description of the forum? This isn't a Windows support forum. |

From the postings I have read in the forum, I believe there will be other members of the knoppmyth community facing this problem when they upgrade to 0.19, which no longer supports program streams. That is why I felt it was resonable to post this question in this forum. I choose the "General" topic because it seemed the closest fit. Marc |
