My box currently has a single PVR-150 card inside. No problem there, and I'm quite happy with it. However, I'd like to add a second card, an older TV Wonder Pro. I'd like to automatically transcode anything recorded on the TV Wonder to mpeg-2 from the default nuv (and delete the old nuv). If possible, I'd like to do this transcoding at a set time (usually about 9 am so that the fans don't start kicking in as the CPU hits 100%). Thanks for any help. Jason |

Automatic transcoding is a supported function in mythtv. There is a setup option for enabling it and you can configure some of the output codec parameters in the "transcoders" recording profiles. Section 23.14 of the mythtv docs explain in more detail ( http://www.mythtv.org/docs/mythtv-HOWTO-23.html#ss23.14 ). Marc |
