Thanks so much for KnoppMyth. I was trying to install MythTV on a system and discovered KnoppMyth. It solved all my problems. I've had a working system since Dec. with only a few issues.

Recently I decided to try and use the composite video port on my WinTV Go card with a security camera feed. I read the posting here and the Motion documentation. I added a video source via the mythtv-setup as channel 3. It shows up in the MySQL.cardinput as source_id 8. Now I'm not sure what to do. I can't tune to channel 3 because there is no channel 3 in the channel table. Do I just need to make an entry into the MySQL.channel for channel 3 and point it to the right sourceid?

Any help would be appreciated.

Motion is in no way connection to MythTV. You don't need to configure anything in MythTV in order to use Motion. Odds are if you configure MythTV to use the card, motion won't be able to use it.
