03/18/06 Those that use a wireless NIC that use the prism module may want to wait for the next release. At the earliest, this will be sometime next weekend. You can also download this tarball which has all need packages. Does this mean that there is plans in the near future to release something newer than R5B7? What do the letters/numbers in the release name stand for? Are things in an "open beta" with this version here? If there is going to be regular updates for the next little bit, I may just wait them out and update myself once towards the end of this version cycle. I think I'd like to wait until KnoppMyth is "done for now" and is at the point where it's waiting on new versions of other key programs before active work on developing a new version starts up again. Does this make sense? Or am I misunderstanding the way that the developers approach this? I guess I just don't wanna put the time and effort into upgrading (I'm a newb, and am scared that i'm gonna mess something up and bring on the wrath of the GF) if there is more changes in the near future coming our way. |

Yes the change to B from A means open beta there will probably be several releases in rapid succession until people stop finding bugs and then there will be a R5 release. As always there will not be any definitive timelines on this as everyone is working in their spare time. |

Ok, cool. I will probably wait out the "A" version then.... just to keep things simple for myself. Thank ya much for the fast reply. I kinda figure B meant Beta, as in Open Beta or some such. But the only thing I could figure an A to mean was Alpha....so that obviously didn't make sense. But you've cleared it up and I see how this works now. |

Yes the A did mean alpha. I'm not really sure why we kept that designation for so long after it went public, but that's what happened. |
