Post subject:  R5B7 Video Manager

In past releases I was able to create unique player commands for specific files within the Video Manager (I could assign a specific command to a .vob file by editing the metadata within the video manager screen). In this release I have not been able to get to any file within a directory.

For example, I have a full DVD rip (vob and ifo files) of the Eagles. It is in my myth/video directory and have always used xine to play it (up until R5A22). I would enter 'xine -pfhq dvd://myth/video/Eagles' in the unique player command line within the Video Manager for the VIDEO_TS.vob file (and for that file in any movie) such that when I go to 'Watch Videos' and select that video file it would play the entire video. Now I cannot edit the specific file (only the directories show up)...

Is there a setting that displays the contents of the directories?

I beleive you can do that right in the menu system now

utilities/setup video manager

Pick video and at the bottom you will see a place for unique player commands.

Have not tried it yet but it seemas like a good idea, make it easier to get the english audio track.

Is .VOB one of the file extensions that is set to be viewed in MythVideo settings?

Yes it is set up to be viewed in the file types. I keep an extensive library of ripped DVD's on my hard drive. The only way I have ever been able to get one to play from the Watch videos' screen is to enter the full xine command line in the video manager line (described above). I can't do that anymore.

What I have figured out is that, under this release, the video manager screen displays the folder one level up from the folder containing VIDEO_TS but not anything further down thus I cannot enter the command any longer. I have not figured out how play the videos any other way (I have tried 'xine -pfhq dvd:/%s' (and dvd://%s; dvd:///%s, etc...) in the file types but cannot get it to work).

Any insight?
