Post subject: | PVR-350 IR receiver - need some help |
First off, thanks to Cecil again. Everything during my upgrade went very well! ... with the exception of the PVR-350's IR receiver. I have a blaster as well, so I thought the confusion was between /dev/lirc and /dev/lirc1. IRBLASTER is quite happy to operate on /dev/lirc without issues. I can't for the life of me get the 350's receiver functioning as it did before the upgrade. My /etc/lirc/lircd.conf and ~mythtv/.mythtv/lircrc are good, as I've tested them on the frontend upstairs with a homebrew receiver... no issues. IRW on the box doesn't yield any results either. What is the verdict on getting this beast to work ? Do I need to use the LIRC_pvr_150 source kit to compile ? IF so, do I need to select the 'Hauppauge 150' option, or just 'Hauppauge TV Card' ? Thanks in advance, Greg. |

Just following up. I followed the instructions for the LIRC (pvr 150) kit, and still no go. Can someone comment on what they needed to do with R5B7 to get their IR Receiver on the 350 working ? Thanks, Greg. |

I have the same card. The first install it would work either. Second install it worked out of the box. Now for the blaster, I dont know about this but I was never able to get the script to work correctly, and I dont think anyone else was able to either. Use the ledxmit posting on this forum to get the blaster to work. Takes about 5 minutes.. Hope this helps |

That's the kicker.. I got the IRBlaster stuff working in about 10 minutes. Yanked the 3100 config from the lirc site, and away I went. What steps did you take to use the onboard IR receiver on the 350 ? Thanks. |

With me it was fairly simple , I have the Hauppauge A415-HPG (look under battery) remote for the 350. Found this for my remote: copied it to /etc/lirc/lircd.conf and restarted lircd and the frontend and I was good to go. You may have fix up your ~mythtv/.lircrc to fix some of your key mappings. ======== Lircd.conf A415-HPG ============= # original Hauppauge TV cards !!! # # # this config file was automatically generated # using lirc-0.7.0(any) on Sun Nov 28 20:25:09 2004 # # contributed by # # brand: Hauppauge 350 # Created: G.J. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm still not seeing anything via 'irw' though, and restarting lirc and the frontend afterwards doesn't yield a workable remote. My lircd.conf worked with the 350 in R5A16... would anything have changed on that front ? I'm worried that my mucking with the pvr_150 kit might have screwed a few files up.. short of the reinstall, is there a way to get the 'stock knoppmyth' lirc stuff back in ? dpkg -L lirc seems to give me the list of files.. that might work ![]() Can anyone confirm having this issue as well, or is it just me ? Greg. |

I didn't see anything with irw after my auto-upgrade (prv-350). I was only after the bit of messing with conf's that I started to work.. On a side note.. Is your ff/Rew working correctly? |

Will try again tonight and see if there are any problems. Are you referring to livetv ? |

Either liveTv or a recording. I am just wondering if the bug described below affects all 350's http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=9157 The gist of it is, the video freezes on the screen with ff/rew with all speeds except 3x ff. |

Ahh, I'm not using the tv-out on the 350. Would love to, but moved to a GF4 440-MX to handle DVD and AVI output before they got better with the XV stuff. Greg. |

UPDATE: Pulled the LIRC 0.8.0 kit from lirc.org, compiled with Hauppauge TV card support, did a make install, all is well. Not sure what the issue was, but it's all working. Thanks for all the suggestions. Greg. |
