I'm using R5B7 with xine for dvd playback setup for spdif passthrough to my reciever through a Chanitech av 710 (using the dragon asound.conf file). As long as I'm not recording anything when I try to watch a dvd everything works great, but if myth is recording the audio gets very choppy. I've checked and made sure dma is set to on for both the hd and dvd drive, so I don't think that's it.

My tuner card is a pvr 500 and the problem occurs if either tuner is in use.

I also thought it might be an interrupt issue since I've also noticed the audio sometimes becomes crackly while the unit is recording, so I moved the sound card to a different slot and now it claims it's on its own irq. Thing is, it claims it's on irq 19 (io-apic enabled) even though there are lower ones available. the ivtv tuners are on 20 and 21. With io-apic disabled eveything ends up on irq 11 which I know can't be good. My MB is via k8m800 based which is probably contributing too.

Anyone else have this problem and figure it out? Any suggestions on what to try?
