Post subject: | pvr-350 tv out - ivtv overflow |
after 2-3 hours of watching recorded shows, the creen freezes. after looking at the frontend logs I see the following line: "ivtv picture start overflow, please inform mythtv-dev@mythtv.org" - any ideas why it does this ? The whole log looks like this: 2006-04-04 08:16:59.533 New DB connection, total: 1 Total desktop width=720, height=480, numscreens=1 2006-04-04 08:16:59.564 Using screen 0, 720x480 at 0,0 2006-04-04 08:16:59.573 mythfrontend version: 0.18.1.20050523-1 www.mythtv.org 2006-04-04 08:16:59.574 Enabled verbose msgs : important general 2006-04-04 08:17:00.343 Switching to square mode (Retro) 2006-04-04 08:17:00.878 New DB connection, total: 2 2006-04-04 08:17:01.133 Registering Internal as a media playback plugin. 2006-04-04 08:17:01.348 Joystick disabled. 2006-04-04 08:17:01.808 Registering MythDVD DVD Media Handler as a media handler 2006-04-04 08:17:01.810 Registering MythDVD VCD Media Handler as a media handler 2006-04-04 08:17:04.661 Registering MythMusic Media Handler as a media handler Failed to find network interface eth0 SIP listening on IP Address :5060 NAT address SIP: Cannot register; proxy, username or password not set Destroying SipFsm object 2006-04-04 08:17:05.662 Starting media monitor. sounds like a good reason to try to move to R5B7 with 0.19 ;) Turn off "Realtime priority" in playback setup menu.. If your not there already, bump ivtv up to 0 0.4.3 or 0.4.4 also, you could try to a kernel with smp turned off. There seems to be some issues with ivtv and smp kernels. http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=9218 |

I'm running R5B7, still getting the annoying messages in the log: 2006-04-06 21:41:11.006 ivtv picture start overflow, please inform mythtv-dev@mythtv.org 2006-04-06 21:54:30.202 ivtv picture start overflow, please inform mythtv-dev@mythtv.org when watching recorded programs. does not suck yet, though ... my next step would be to compile the kernel. Thanks, Danny |

Why would recompiling the kernel be the next step? If you have a problem and in the logs it state to contact the developers, why not contact the developers? |
