I installed R5B7 about a week ago, using the PVR-500 and Epia MII12000, and it looks like it's working, but I get a display just like the ones in this post on the TV:

http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... posterized

I've been searching the forum for about a week, but haven't really found a remedy for this. I've seen references to DPMS and XF86Config-4, but I'm not sure where to find this. Is it supposed to be in /usr/local/bin/epia_sql.sh? Because it's not there.
I'm a noobe, so take pity on me.

as root...

Code:
# locate XF86Config-4
/etc/X11/XF86Config-4
# nano /etc/X11/XF86Config-4

change 'Option "DPMS"' to "false". Ctrl-X, Y, Enter.

Thanks lordsnooty, that did the trick. I'd seen your other posts about DPMS, but didn't realize XF86Config-4 was case sensitive. Now I just need to get the picture centered and full screen. Right now there's a black border around it.

You need to look into the TVOverscan opiton which is used in the XF86Config-4 examples linked to in my posts. Also if you find the Unichrome Chipset howto for compiling Xfree 4.5 and unichrome, you should get more overscan options to eliminate the black border, as well as accelerated video for your PVR card.
