Hi all,

I have Knoppmyth R5A30.2 up and running with a Dvico Lite and DNTV Live cards installed. I'm trying to do some finishing touches and have some probably simple questions. I'm in Australia.

1. Where do I find the config file where all the IP settings are stored, as I think I may have one IP wrong for the lookup etc. Problem is, xmltv cannot contact site.

2. What is the best GUI based File Manager to use with Knoppmyth. I'm struggling at the moment!

3. Best Browser? I saw posts about Firefox Problems.

4. How do I change the guide grabbing source for tv_grab_au from D1 to MSN. or do I need another version of xmltv. I do have other grabbers running on my home network on windows machines, grabbing for my Topfield STB, so could the downloaded info be re-used?

I'm trying to make Mythtv my main HTPC solution so I can ditch the tempremental MCE, so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Lester

Lester,

Send me an email and I will pass on the details about changing the XMLTV grabber to ninemsn.

Hi Lester,
If you are already creating a valid xmltv file then mythfilldatabase has an option to use that file instead downloading through a grabber. Or you could create a dummy tv_grab_au script that copies your xmltv file to the mythtv box and just outputs it.
I did something like this a while ago when I didn't have broadband at home. I ran a grabber at another location to generate the xmltv file, which was then compressed and uploaded to my website. At home my mythtv box only had to download the pregenerated file instead of scaping dozens of pages over a slow dialup connection.

How well have you find the DNTV Live cards to be? I'm interested in them myself.
Thanks,

Hi turpie,

I've found them to be excellent...

My DNTV Live! is the PRO, I think.

I'm also running a "DigitalNow Twin DVB-T" which is a VP-7045 and it's great too, just doesn't like VIA USB.

Thanks for the help, might need to pick your brain further on the script yet if possible :)

Thanks,
Lester
